Mild quake in Bengal; no damage

A mild earthquake of magnitude 3.6 on the Richter scale was felt in parts of southern West Bengal, including Kolkata, on Saturday, the met office said here.
There were no reports of any injury or damage to property due to the quake, which occurred at 4.29 pm and lasted a few seconds.
The epicentre of the quake was in Howrah district at a depth of 10 km, said an officer in the Regional meteorological Centre.
The tremors were also felt in adjacent districts of Hooghly and West Midnapore. IANS
