STF seizes over 6 kg gold in Kolkata, four held

The Kolkata Police's Special Task Force on Tuesday arrested four persons and seized over 6 kg of gold worth Rs 2.44 crore from them, a senior officer said.
Based on prior information, Saikat Adhikary, 28, Moloy Bhowmick, 24, Partha Bhowmick, 27 and Subrata Adhikary, 27 were arrested from Sudder street and 6 kg 330 gram gold illegally smuggled by road from Bangladesh recovered from them, the officer said.
"The market value of the seized gold is nearly Rs 2.44 crore. The arrested persons also carried Rs 98 lakh cash," he added.
