Leaders mourn death of former MP CM Babulal Gaur

Leaders across the political spectrum mourned the death of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Babulal Gaur.
The leaders took to Twitter and recalled the contribution of Gaur, who died on Wednesday at a hospital following a prolonged illness.
"Gaur served people for decades. From Jana Sangh days, he worked constantly to strengthen our party. As Minister and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, he undertook many efforts to transform the state. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti," Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.
Union Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya expressed grief over the demise of the leader.
Amit Shah recalled that Gaur "strongly opposed the Emergency, for which he was jailed for 19 months."
Rajnath Singh said Gaur, who held various positions in government and the BJP, "was a skilled organiser and a hardworking administrator".
Madhya Pradesh Congress and senior party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia too shared his condolences.
Congress spokesperson Shobha Oza said: "The death of Gaur is an end of a political era in the state. He was a cheerful, social and honest leader." IANS
