Only 394 new beds for Delhi hospitals between 2015-18

The Delhi government which has been praised for its work on the Health sector, has only added 394 beds between 2014-15 and 2017-18, the Delhi Assembly was informed on Monday.
In a reply to a question raised by BJP MLA O.P. Sharma, Health Minister Satyendar Jain informed the House that there were 10,959 beds in the Delhi government's hospital in 2014-15.
"As per the annual report 2018-19 by the Health Department, there were 11,353 beds in 2017-18," the reply said.
However, it also said that the government is aiming to double the number of beds from previously 10,000 to 20,000.
The Aam Aadmi Party came to power in 2015 and its tenure will come to an end in February 2020. IANS
