75-year-old commits suicide in Dwarka

A 75-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his home in the Mohan Garden area of Dwarka.
According to the police, the man identified as Subodh Kumar was undergoing treatment for depression at DDU Hospital for the last 5-6 years. "No foul play is suspected. However, the body has been sent for autopsy," the police said.
Subodh Kumar had retired from the Department of Home Guard. Of the three sons, two lived with Kumar and his wife Laxmi Devi and one is working in Mumbai.
According to the police, a PCR call was received at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday. On reaching the Kumar's house, they found him hanging from a fan with a cloth on the ground floor.
The family told the police, on Tuesday night Kumar slept in a room on the ground floor and his wife and other family members on other floors of the three-storyed building. They spotted him hanging from the ceiling fan in his room.
