Punjabi Academy to publish booklet on Guru Nanak

The Punjabi Academy of the Delhi government will release a 35-page booklet in Punjabi, Hindi and English on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak on the occasion of his 550th birth anniversary.
The booklet that would contain teachings and messages of Guru Nanak with colourful illustrations and stories was the first of its kind initiative, said Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, also the Minister for Art, Culture and Language, here on Thursday.
With rising hatred among religions and prevailing discrimination on the basis of caste, creed and colour, Guru Nanak's teaching were more relevant in today's world, Sisodia said.
"I hope that this book would serve the purpose and the society will be benefited at larger," he said.
Guru Nanak (29 November 1469 - 22 September 1539) was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the 10 Sikh Gurus. His birth is celebrated worldwide as Gurpurab on Kartik pooranmashi, the full-moon day.IANS
