Claiming it to be the 'longest' accessible awareness ride, Delhi Cabinet minister Rajendra Pal Gautam on Tuesday flagged off a scooter trip by 20 differently-abled people, who will travel 3,500 km between Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi.
Gautam flagged off the ride, organised by Eagle Specially Abled Riders, from India Gate saying the ride will be placed in Limca Book of Records and India Book of Records.
"This Delhi-Mumbai-Delhi ride started on Tuesday and will end on October 15 covering a distance of 3,500 kilometres by retrofitted scooty."
A total of 20 differently-abled people from various parts of the country are taking part in this accessible awareness ride, he said.
While flagging off the ride, the minister said that this is one of its kind accessible awareness ride for the differently-abled, which would definitely give a message that they are no different. Life can be beautiful and easy, provided opportunities are given, he said.
"People with disabilities want to show that if there is courage nothing is impossible in life through their accessible awareness ride. The main objective of this ride is to enhance and empower the personality and confidence through education", the minister added.IANS
