Cabinet nod to MoUs in radio, TV
09-October-2019
The Union Cabinet here on Wednesday gave ex-post facto (with retrospective effect) approval for the memorandum of understandings (MoUs) signed between Indian and foreign broadcasters in radio and television.
The MoUs will help the public broadcaster explore new visions and strategies to address the demands of new technologies and competition, media liberalisation and globalisation.
"Broadcasting of programmes to be obtained through mutual exchange, co-production will lead to equity and inclusiveness among viewers and listeners of DD (Doordarshan) and AIR (All India Radio). Exchanges of technical know-how, expertise and training of manpower will help the public broadcaster meet challenges in the field of broadcasting," said a cabinet statement.IANS
