41 middlemen held for trafficking of labourers in Odisha

As many as 41 middlemen were arrested for their alleged involvement in trafficking of labourers in Odisha, said police on Saturday.
Launching a special drive against the middlemen involved in trafficking labourers from Bolangir and Nuapada districts, the Odisha police arrested 41 middlemen and agents.
"41 middlemen and agents indulging in illegal human trafficking have been arrested from different police station areas of the two districts," said police.
Among the accused persons, 15 were arrested on the basis of FIRs, the police said.
At least nine FIRs were lodged with Bolangir police and six FIRs with Nuapada police.
While all the accused persons will be sent to the court, some accused persons will be taken into remand and they will be further interrogated, the police added.
Odisha DGP B.K. Sharma has directed to continue the drive against middlemen involved in trafficking labourers, on a daily basis, under the direct supervision of Superintendents of Police.IANS
