Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) candidate M.C.Kamurdeen on Thursday won the Manjeswaram Assembly constituency by 7,923 votes.
Like in the past elections, the BJP stood second and the CPI-M ended in the third place.
In 2016, IUML's Abdul Razack had defeated his nearest BJP rival K.Surendran by a slender margin of 89 votes. Razack passed away last year.
