Cyclone relief: Mamata accuses BJP of playing dirty game
14-November-2019
Taking a dig apparently at Union minister Babul Supriyo, who faced protest demonstration from ruling Trinamool Congress activists while touring the cyclone Bulbul-hit areas, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday reminded him that the Centre and states have clearly defined separate areas of power and accused the BJP of playing a dirty game.
Banerjee told mediapersons on the sidelines of a programme at the secretariat Nabanna that the Centre and the state should work in a federal spirit to tackle the situation caused by the severe cyclone in the state.
"I feel the elected government, both at the Centre and the state, should work federally because of this situation.
"And no individual politician, or some people, who are BJP supporters, should play a dirty game," she said.
"Sometimes you have to see that people's interest is the greater interest. And humanity is greater than anything else. And that's why I will appeal to everybody: don't do politics, give justice to the people".IANS
