NGMA DG Adwaita Gadanayak gets 3-year extension

Adwaita Gadanayak, the current Director-General of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) has been given an extension for three years by the Ministry of Culture, it was announced by the institution on Saturday.
The renowned sculptor and installation artist took office on December 7, 2016. He is the first Director-General of NGMA.
The first NGMA was opened on March 29, 1954 in New Delhi in the historic Jaipur House. A repository of the cultural ethos of the country, it showcases India's art forms through the passage of the last 160 years starting from about 1857.
NGMA is run and administered as a subordinate office of the Ministry of Culture and has branches in Mumbai and Bengaluru.IANS
