6 booked in UP for raping Class 10 student

Six youths have been booked in connection with an alleged gang rape of a Class 10 student under Madhuban police circle in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh.
According to Mau Superintendent of Police (SP) Anurag Arya, the prime accused, along with two others had been detained on Sunday for questioning, while efforts are on to nab the rest of the youths.
The incident took place on Friday, when a student of Class 10 left her house around 9 a.m., but did not return till late in the evening.
"Around 10 p.m., the family members of the girl received a call that she had been raped by six youths and they had fled leaving her behind," the SP said.
The family members of the girl reached the spot and brought her back home.
"When the girl regained her conscious, she narrated her ordeal. Subsequently, she was admitted to a private hospital for treatment and on Saturday, a complaint was lodged against the six youths, including four named," the official said.
A case has been registered against the accused the IPC and the POCSO Act.IANS
