Twitterati troll Cong for Minorities Rights Day tweet
18-December-2019
Twitter users trolled the opposition Congress after it posted a tweet on Minorities Rights Day.
#MinoritiesRightsDay trended on Twitter with 1,448 tweets.
The Congress wrote on its official Twitter handle @INCIndia: "Article 15 of the Indian Constitution prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. Today, it is all the more necessary to remind our government of the same and to urge them to uphold our Constitutional values."
In reply, Twitter users reminded the opposition party that the said article was meant only for the citizens of India.
One user wrote: "Article 15 is for the Indians, not illegal immigrants."
Another user said: "If all Indians are equal before law then why do we have the Minority Commission, Minority Affairs Minister and, above all, why do we have Muslim personal law board? Hypocrisy at its best."
One Twitter user posted: "Stop preaching...."
One user wrote: "So, there are no rights for the majority in India? This is your idea of India?"
One user tagged Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor, and the Congress and wrote: "If you really want to save the Congress from a total political washout, why don't you take the route of righteousness to win over people than spread misconception and fear-mongering."IANS
