CAA protests: Prohibitory orders imposed in Najafgarh

In view of the anti-CAA protests slated to take place in Delhi, section 144 has been imposed in Najafgarh area near Dwarka on Friday.
The order issued by the Assistant Commissioner of Police of subdivision Najafgarh in Dwarka district, Vijay Singh, said "In view of the prevailing situation and protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), this issue and protest has become communally sensitive and has emotionally charged the minority Muslim community. So, it has become necessary to maintain public safety and security and law and order in the sub Division Najafgarh of Dwarka district."
The ACP has ordered for strict compliance by all concerned for maintaining law and order and public safety and security in Najafgarh area.
According to the order, carrying weapons, sticks, any incendiary materials or any other material which can be used for violence is prohibited. Carrying of any corrosive substance or explosive is also prohibited.
Assembling of more than four persons and any kind of demonstration without the permission of the competent authority is also banned.
Section 144 also prohibits the printing, circulation or dissemination of any communal, sensitive and provocative material in any media including social media platforms.
The precautionary step has been taken in order to avoid any law and order situation ahead of Friday prayers.IANS
