Hemant Soren to be sworn in as Jharkhand CM on Dec 29

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader and the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance's Chief Minister candidate Hemant Soren was on Tuesday invited to form the government in Jharkhand and will take oath on December 29.
Accompanied by leaders of alliance partners, the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Soren met Governor Draupadi Murmu at Raj Bhawan at 8.45 p.m. and staked his claim to form the government.
The swearing-in will take here on 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The alliance, which won 47 seats in the 81-member house in the November-December Assembly election, has also secured support of former ally, the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik.
Soren was elected leader of the alliance at a meeting of alliance MLAs at the residence of his father and JMM President Shibu Soren on Tuesday night.
Earlier in the day, newly-elected JMM legislators elected him as the leader of the legislature party. IANS
