05-February-2020
The Centre for Civil Society (CCS) has featured in the list of top 100 global think tanks and is the fourth Indian think tank to find its place in the list.
The Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme at the University of Pennsylvania annually ranks think tanks around the world through an intensive eight-month long process in which experts and peer institutions give their feedback on the scope, performance and influence of global think tanks.
CCS is ranked 82nd in the top 100 list, and among the top 100 social policy think tanks, it is ranked 52nd in the world. In addition. Among the top 20 think tanks in China, India, Japan and South Korea, CCS is ranked 16th among 98 think tanks nominated from these four countries.
CCS's report on "Deconstructing K-12 Governance in India" was also mentioned in the list of Best Policy Study-Report Produced by a Think Tank in 2019.
CCS was included in the top 100 list based on several criteria such as efforts in a particular area leading to significant changes in quality of life, academic, political and media reputation, usefulness of information produced in advocacy work and to policy makers, ability to produce new knowledge or alternative ideas on policy, ability to bridge the gap between academic and policy communities and policymakers and the public.IANS
