2nd batch of Union ministers to visit J&K in April
20-February-2020
A second batch of Union ministers will arrive in Jammu & Kashmir to take stock of the developmental projects and apprise people about the various Central schemes, sources said on Thursday.
According to sources, it will be a follow-up of the first visit of Union ministers in January as part of the first major outreach programme of the Modi government after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5 last year. The ministers inaugurated several projects and gathered feedback from the ground.
According to sources, the second visit of Union ministers will take place in April after the Parliament session ends on April 3.
Sources said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will decide on the names of the ministers visiting J&K. Different ministers will be visiting different districts across J&K so that there is no overlap. They will take stock of various developmental projects in J&K, setting deadlines for their completion.
In January, the first group of 36 Union ministers came in batches and visited 60 locations across J&K -- 52 in Jammu and eight in the Kashmir Valley. - IANS
