Himachal HC seeks info on coronavirus
17-March-2020
The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday issued notice to the state and sought reply on preventive measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice L. Narayana Swamy and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua passed this order on a petition of Nareshwar Singh Chandel, who said though there is no confirmed case of coronavirus in the state, it is at risk due to a large tourist influx and Nepalese workforce employed in the state.
The petitioner has suggested preventive measures to stop the spread of the disease, including restricting entry of public in official buildings and government complexes, including courts.
He has said though the state is taking preventive measures, they are not sufficient as only four designated isolation wards for coronavirus suspects or patients have been set up.
The court listed the matter for next hearing in the first week of April. IANS
