From reading 'The Football Book' to singing their favourite songs on karaoke and posting on social media amid sorting winter clothes as summer knocks at the door, people took 'Janata Curfew' on Sunday in positive strides.

While streaming and mobiles games were on top of children's minds, adults were busy with activities like painting, gardening, reading books, listening to music, even playing antaakshari and more -- and then posting family images on Instagram and Facebook.

"My wife gifted me karaoke set on my last birthday. It is out today and being utilized to its maximum. Such a relief," Anubhav who lives in an upscale society in Noida told IANS.

Meenakshi who is an art enthusiast is spending her time with canvas.

"Since I have already freelancing from home so work-from-home diktat is nothing new for me. But Janata Curfew is so today, there is a quiet time with my art space as there is absolute silence out there," she said.

In the wake of the global novel coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the people to opt for a 'Janata Curfew' between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The total number of positive coronavirus cases in India has reached 341 on Sunday, including the foreign nationals, the Union Health Ministry said. IANS
