Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday joined the nation in clapping to thank emergency service workers for working to combat Covid-19.
Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call, the Chief Ministers of the Telugu states along with their family members, leaders of their respective parties and top officials clapped as a token of gratitude.
Chandrashekhar Rao, along with his son and cabinet minister K. T. Rama Rao, other family members, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Director General of Police Mahender Reddy and some top leaders of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) clapped in the lawns of Pragati Bhavan, the official residence of the Chief Minister.
KCR, who was attending a meeting over coronavirus, came out and clapped to express gratitude towards health professionals and other emergency service workers for working tirelessly to keep people safe.
Extending his full support to Modi's call, KCR at a news conference on Saturday found fault with those criticising the Prime Minister.
He said the remarks being made by some people over social media were objectionable, and that he had directed DGP to take action against such people.
In Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy also clapped at his office.
Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney, senior officials and some leaders of YSR Congress Party also joined in the clapping. IANS
