3 private labs to test Covid-19 suspects in Haryana

The Haryana government has designated three private laboratories in the Gurugram district for Covid-19 testing, whereas the number of coronavirus positive cases has not increased from 10 in the last six days.
These labs are: Strand Life Sciences in sector 34, SRL in sector 18, and Core Diagnostics in Udyog Vihar-3. They will do Covid-19 testing as per ICMR, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, guidelines.
"It is mandatory for them to reserve up to 50 per cent of the testing capacity for samples to be referred from the government health facilities, as per the requirement, through Civil Surgeons," said an official, here on Monday.
These labs have been directed to charge Rs 4,500 as prescribed by ICMR for the sample tests, including Rs 1,500 for the screening and Rs 3,000 for confirmatory test.
The government has also asked private physicians to inform the Health Department through the Civil Surgeon concerned about every suspected case referred for Covid-19 testing to the private labs. The details should include residential address and contact details.
