Kejriwal unveils Ashoka Pillar at Delhi assembly

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the Ashoka Pillar at Delhi Assembly on Monday. While addressing a gathering on this occasion, Kejriwal stated that the Ashoka Chakra was adopted as national symbol of India on January 26, 1950 and installing it in the Vidhan Sabha will remind Ministers and MLAs (Member of Legislative Assembly) the values of India as a democracy and a republic.
"It is a moment of pride for us that the Ashoka Pillar has been installed in the Delhi Assembly. I want to congratulate all of you, especially Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal because, since the day he has taken charge of speaker, a lot of improvement was witnessed in Delhi Assembly. For instance, a picture of Raja Nahar Singh has been set up in the Assembly gallery. Many warriors, who fought the war and made sacrifices to the nation, their pictures can be found here," the Chief Minister said. - IANS
