Popular video game Minecraft has paid tribute to broadcaster Technoblade, whose family confirmed last week that he had passed away from cancer.
A pig wearing a golden crown now appears as the Minecraft splash image in the game's launcher, paying homage to Technoblade's bejeweled-crowned royal pig-man from the game.
"We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are heartbroken over the loss of Technoblade. He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy. He will be missed dearly," the platform said on Twitter.
Technoblade died after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 23.
Technoblade's last video, anchored by his father, was posted on Friday on his YouTube channel, which has nearly 11 million subscribers.
In the video titled 'so long nerds', Technoblade said: "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this, I am dead. Thank you all for supporting my content over the years. If I had another 100 lives, I think I would choose to be Technoblade again every single time, as those were the happiest years of my life."

He apologised for "selling out so much in the past year" by offering merchandise but admitted that because of this, his siblings will be able to go to college.
"Well, if they want to. I don't want to put any dead brother peer pressure on them," he added.
"I don't think he said everything he wanted to say, but I think he got the main points. He finished that up and then he was done. He lived about another eight hours after that," Technoblade's father had told The Verge. - IANS
