The selected students will be part of a panel that would include two other experts from the industry. Senior journalist and The Weekend Leader’s Consulting Editor, Sam Rajappa, will moderate the session.
Appreciating The Weekend Leader’s ‘positive journalism’, G V Selvam, Vice President, VIT Chennai Campus, said TWL was distinctly different from the other media. “The Weekend Leader projects social entrepreneurs and those who do service to society as role models for the younger generation,” he said.
Selvam also lavished praise on Venkatraman, The Weekend Leader’s Person of the Year and said, “Every entrepreneur should plough back a portion of his profit to society. Some give to God; but giving to the poor is equal to giving to God. As Anna (former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister) said, ‘you can see God in the laughter of the poor.’”
